A paradise. A piece of nature in Europe that used to resemble England. Wild boar. nbsp;Porcupine. Roebuck . Snakes. black squirrel. Edible fungi. swifts. Eagles . Insects . butterflies . Flora and fauna . Ash. Oak. Almond. Walnut . Fig . Plum all 2 mins outside my door and of course the weather. Marriella runs the hardware shop in the next village ( 3 miles). An art course with Americans starts in Gagliano 2 miles away in August they show Italian films in the square. I am throwing this open as I have no idea how it will work. I will trust anyone who instil the right requirements. If the buyer is expecting millimetre exactness it will disappoint as I am a painter and writer . The base is pretty firm. I am no builder but I know when to make something strong. It has electric (plus a bill to turn it on again. Also water and another bill. ) The bills here are small so small . even the council tax is about ( I cant remember exactly ) but it is tiny. The Piazza is 2 mins away . There is 2 bars plus all the local wine you can drink under a sea of stars. Mario runs the bar and his brother owns the state of the art restaurant down the hill. The make films around here . La Strada with Fellini's wife . also The American with George Clooney . I can get to Rome for around 12 euro all in. It has 3 or 4 buses each day that takes you to Sulmona or Avanzano which in turn can take you all over Italy. Rome . Naples (3 hours away on the bus) Pompeii . Capri etc. Skiing is 20 mins away ( If you are so inclined) . I have thought carefully about this sale for a long time. Because of my attachment to the people and the scenery I have not advertised . oping to go back and live. The quake of 2009 had an influence on the village which interrupted all building projects. Firemen came in from Milan and said it was ok . Another set of local firemen came in and said it wasn't. Because I was a 'residente' I was under the umbrella of repair. This never happened. Everyone eventually went back to their homes and are still there. I am now seventy . It is for this reason that I hope someone will get the joy of the beauty. The village is flourishing in different ways. New restaurants . In August the Romans come down to inspect the place as it is cooler than Rome. There are Fiestas including Pink Floyd tribute bands etc . There is tools worth around 2k. Makita sander. Dewalt power drill 2 batteries. A bench saw. Numerous drills . A wheel barrow. A trolly. Everything to do it up. There is a hardware shop run by Marilee 3 miles away in the next village. The birds come to feed on the balcony . Nuthatch . Redstart. finches . Cuckoos are wide spread. Porcupine (I followed one back on the path past the fig tree on the way home) . Wild Boar . snake. deer of all kinds . Ten mins away in the forest. At night I sit under the stars at the end of the street above Umberto's chicken shed and watch stars down to the floor of the sky. Umberto keeps his chicken at the end of the 50 yard street. It is in the 'Centro Historico' part of the village . which is 2 minutes way. Angelo and Delores run the restaurant bar in the village. There are 2 bars and 3 shops. Mario runs the other bar. Stefano does walks into the mountains showing prehistory including a hermitage where bones were found. Roman pot sherds are along side the walk paths down from the village . I have found flint arrow heads a few miles away and a carved out stone age water basin at the foot of a cliff for catching water. I want people to go with nothing hidden. I have the deeds. No Italian bureaucracy to go through. Numerous photographs are available . When I saw the view from the balcony (see pictures) I secured it on the spot. I had travelled up to Tuscany where rubble was being sold for 30K. I have a low reserve because of quake damage. But will not go below. You will have to decide on the repairs. Lots of information just ask. It is a property for a small family who likes the sea. trekking. walking. bird watching. cycling. or just to learn about Italian. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CHECK ON LINE . SULMONA . SECINARO . (The first four pictures are views from the balcony . The fifth is the porch at the back on the street at night. ) Sid.
