Beautiful House Introdacqua Italy with Garden Abruzzo Near Sulmona for sale
Traditional Townhouse. Introdacqua. Abruzzo. Italy
Set on the old side of town near the historic centre the house is around 150 years old. It has been renovated sympathetically. keeping the old features and replacing features that would have been there (re-wired using the traditional twisted silk flex and porcelain twist light switches). Introdacqua is one of Italy's 50 most beautiful villages (according to ‘I Borghi Piu Belli D'Italia. www. borghitalia. it) It is a 10 minute drive from Sulmona.
The house is on three levels. On the ground floor there is an ‘ingresso' (hallway) and a wine cellar. Behind this. built into the rock there is a ‘cantina' (cave) which would have been used for storing wine and olive oil. There is also a stable next door that belongs to the property and is great for storage.
On the first floor there is a large kitchen/dining room. It has a hand built wooden kitchen with an open fire and built in settle. The worktop is made from local solid oak. The ceiling has the original exposed chestnut beams. There is a door leading from the kitchen to the garden.
Also on this floor is bedroom three (currently used as a lounge) with an antique French wood burner and a door to the garden. There is also a utility room and bathroom.
Doors from the kitchen lead to the top floor. There are two large bedrooms (one with small en-suite. WC and wash hand basin only) they both have views of the garden.
It is rare to find a house in the old part of town with a garden. particularly one that is not overlooked and with views of the mountains. It is terraced with a deck on the top level. gravelled area with dining table on the second level and sunken area with stone bench and space for bbq on the lower level.
There are many more photographs on request.
