To get to the small village of Virey (2/3 k) in the opposite direction will take you over the bridge ( Pont de la republique) this area only just over a kilometre away from the barn has unbelievable riverside views with stunning gorges cut into the surrounding hillsides. Because the river is so large it is possible to sail up to the double bridges or barrage 2 to 3 kilometres away. The small village of Virey has a school and a very good modern convenience store with bar tabak and restaurant serving meals daily. There is also a large Main Renault dealership in Virey
Approx. 4km is the local recycling centre where all kinds of waste including metal and building materials can be discarded.

This area is very unique in its weather patterns always trying to be sunny and warm. long periods of rain are seldom it can rain for an hour or so with the day seemingly lost to bad weather only for it to be gloriously sunny an hour or so later for long periods. The weather in surrounding areas is not as good as is it here. The night skies can be breathtakingly clear and at times it can seem as if the whole universe is on display with zero light pollution.
At times the distant bells of the cathedral in St Hilaire can be heard. Cycling into St Hilaire although subjected to a couple of hills is easily achievable walks in the area are very pleasant. The air is very clean and un polluted the water supply is very soft.
The area and in particular the property area is very quiet and calm with little or no traffic at all.
