 A fantastic opportunity to buy outright a very old historical building; The Old Pumping House - Campbeltown. This building was believed to have been owned by a Duke of Argyll before being signed over to Campbeltown Council as a pumping house. The property was then used by the water board before being sold on. It has a flat roof and is made from solid stone with thick walls and a wide door. The roof has skylights in it and the interior is white washed. There is electricity on site. It is the flat roofed building partially obscured by the building with the apex roof - it is directly adjoining the green putting shed office and is made of the same stone as the nearby apex roofed building (my thoughts were to make a similar roof with the slate tiles?) Google maps will allow you to visit the town in street view mode.

There has historically been interest from a group of railway enthusiast in Campbeltown to use the building to house rolling stock for a miniture railway - so potentially another form of income if you wished to lease the unit out?

The property requires updating and is suitable for an ice cream parlour/fast food as immediately next to a putting green and a children's park/very popular play area. The green hut in the photograph is where the clubs and balls for the putting green are rented out by Campbeltown Council. The subject property is located at the very end of Hall Street where there are several cafes and restaurants. a state of the art modern swimming pool and The oldest picture house that I've heard of(listed historical building) which has just celebrated it's centenary recently. The unit is only for sale as I will be emigrating soon and basically wont be around to complete the project. Imagine working in such a fabulous location. in your own building so no landlords increasing rents every 5 years or so. No landlord and of course increases in property value will always prevail. It does need updating and I have had architect drawings made for residential purposes. however have not applied for formal residential or commercial usage to date. So subject to planning permission options are endless I suppose.
